After a successful career as an award winning advertising creative director,  Tom Monahan became  a creative thinking coach, helping people access more of their creative potential. He worked with over 200,000 people on four continents, in major companies, as well as with individuals and smaller organizations.

His clients include creative departments at innovative companies such as Virgin, Target and Southwest Airways, among many others, as well as many of the world’s top ad agencies BBDO, Chiat/Day, DDB, Ogilvy, JWT, GSD&M and more.

Tom doesn’t believe creativity can be taught. Rather his workshops put people in places, experientially, to access the unlimited creativeness they had as children.  Tom is author of The Do-it-yourself Lobotomy: Open your mind to greater creative thinking. He’s written over 100 articles for periodicals and the web, wrote for Communication Arts for 10 years, was featured in the Wall Street Journal’s Creative Leader’s series and has received two EMMY Awards for TV editorial writing.  These days Tom lives in Providence, RI with his wife, fine art photographer,  Audrey Sward Monahan. Painting is his primary creative outlet.
